Gallusmarkt in Kremsmünster: A festival for art and craft lovers
On the weekend, October 12th and 13th, the town center of Kremsmünster becomes the scene of the popular Gallusmarkt, which is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Here visitors have the opportunity to experience a variety of art and craft products up close. Over 150 exhibitors will present their creative works, which range from wood and glassware to handmade jewelry and unique decoration objects. Thousands of visitors are expected to explore and enjoy the offer.
A special innovation this year is the participation of the "IG Handwerk Garstnertal". This community of interests, which has consisted of 39 members since 2007, puts old and rare craft in the foreground. On the Gallusmarkt, visitors have the opportunity to look over the shoulder of craftsmen such as copper smithy, threshing people, carving and spring -like stickers. This offers a unique opportunity to experience the skills and techniques of the craftsmen live.
Traffic regulations and family events
In order to enable visitors a safe and pleasant experience, the entire market area between the Gasthaus Schwarzer Adler, the Trattoria Luna and the Raiffeisenbank is closed to traffic. A special bicycle parking lot is available so that the journey by bike is not put in the way of any difficulties. These measures are intended to ensure that all visitors can stroll undisturbed and concentrate on the various exhibitors.
In addition to the manual demonstrations, visitors can expect culinary delights and a diverse supporting program that is specifically geared towards families. This event promises an entertaining experience for young and old.
A fee of three euros is charged for admission to the Gallusmarkt; Owners of an OÖNCARD can occur at a reduced price of 2.50 euros. Children and adolescents under the age of 16 have free access. More information about the event is on gallusmarkt.at to find.
