Attempted murder in Grieskirchen: man with pitchfork attacks roommate!
There was a brutal incident in a psychosocial care facility in the Grieskirchen district on Tuesday evening. A 27-year-old man got into a heated argument with a roommate over house rules, which ultimately led to an attempted murder. As the police in Upper Austria reported, after a heated argument, the aggressor took a pitchfork from the facility's agricultural wing and attacked his victim several times in the chest area. The incident occurred around 6pm when the perpetrator initially went outside to smoke a cigarette but became enraged and launched the dangerous attack.
Shocking escape and arrest
The victim was largely able to fend off the attacks and tried to escape. However, while trying to escape, he stumbled and was attacked again by the 27-year-old, who then tried to stab him. But even after another attack, the man managed to escape into the neighborhood where he hid. As he fled, the perpetrator threw the pitchfork at him like a spear, but missed him. The alerted emergency services finally found the accused in a nearby field, where he was arrested without resistance. When he was arrested, he admitted that he wanted to stab his roommate, according to police reports.
Due to the stab-like injuries, the victim was taken to the Wels Clinic, where an initial examination revealed probable minor injuries. After consultation with the Wels public prosecutor's office, the investigation was taken over by the Upper Austrian State Criminal Police Office in order to examine the incident in more detail and clarify the background to the brutal attack Volksblatt and Police Upper Austria report in detail.
