New groundbreaking: bypass Pupping-Karling awakens hope for relief
Hartkirchen. The construction work for the Pupping-Karling bypass has officially started. A groundbreaking gave the starting signal for this important infrastructure project. It is planned that the new streets and bridges will improve the connection to the Eferding bypass and at the same time optimize the connection between the Mühl and Hausruckviertel regions through the Danube region. The completion of the construction work is planned for July 2027.
The bypass is not only a traffic measure, but also has economic importance. The relocation of the local centers Pupping and Karling is sought by relocating through traffic, which should significantly increase traffic safety in this area. The B131 Aschacher Straße in particular will be affected: In the future, traffic from the Hartkirchner residential area will be directed to a newly planned business area. This redesign should not only improve the flow of traffic on the B130, but also reduce noise and pollutants in the affected communities.
project scope and advantages
The construction project includes a main route of around 4.6 kilometers as well as around two kilometers of side paths and seven bridges over the Aschach and its secondary arms. In an explanatory statement, Christian Dick, head of the construction and maintenance department, emphasized that building traffic should be mainly guided through the routes provided. Nevertheless, temporary traffic impairments should not be completely avoided during the construction period.
Another important aspect of the project is nature and species protection, which is taken into account in all planned measures. This approach testifies to a responsible handling of the environment, which is of great social interest in today's world.
Governor Thomas Stelzer (ÖVP) expressed the economic importance of this project. "The bypass is an important step in the further development of our business location Upper Austria," he emphasized. Infrastructure-State Councilor Günther Steinkellner (FPÖ) also emphasized how essential it is not only to maintain existing roads, but also to actively open up new ways. "Both the residents and commuters benefit from the new bypass," he said.
Finally, Martin Pöcheim, head of the road construction and traffic management, made it clear that the new route will help to complete the road network. In addition, the construction project ensures jobs and promotes regional added value, which will be an advantage for the entire region.
