Future for Kika/Leiner employees: Country demands quick solutions!
The insolvency of the Kika/Leiner furniture chain is causing concern among the affected employees in Lower Austria. Around 600 of the 1,350 employees come from this region. State Councilor Susanne Rosenkranz (FPÖ) expressed her regret about the situation and emphasized: "We are not indifferent to any fate. Such news is doubly bitter, especially before Christmas." APA OTS reported.
Rosenkranz informed that the state is in close contact with the AMS and is optimistic that the well-trained employees can quickly find new jobs. “We want to reassure people that they can be placed as quickly as possible,” she explained. However, the establishment of a work foundation, as exists in Upper Austria after the bankruptcy of the motorcycle manufacturer KTM, was ruled out. Instead, the Lower Austrian Employees' Association (NÖAAB) called for retraining offers, especially in the nursing professions, which are considered crisis-proof. Katja Seitner from NÖAAB called for people to find out about the diverse nursing and care professions in the region, as these professional fields appeal to people who would like to work in personal contact courier reported.
