Millions in aid and quick clean-up activities after a storm disaster in Lower Austria

The clean-up work after the storm disaster in Lower Austria continues, while state governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner and LH deputy Stephan Pernkopf announced that over 40 million euros from flood aid have already been paid out to private individuals and companies.

Damage commissions are working tirelessly in affected areas, with approximately 16,000 buildings estimated to be affected in more than 400 communities across the country. Payouts are made quickly and efficiently, both through express transfers and payments on account.

Support from 92,000 helpers, including over 57,000 volunteer firefighters, will continue to be intensified. The Federal Army is particularly concerned with securing possible landslides in the Pielachtal, as further rainfall is expected. The state warning center is calling for increased vigilance, especially in the Alpine area, due to possible further landslides.

The joint efforts to rebuild and protect the affected communities in Lower Austria are an impressive testimony to solidarity and efficiency in crisis situations.
