New living paradise in Heiligeneich: 10 terraced houses and more!
In Heiligeneich, market town of Atzenbrugg, the groundbreaking ceremony for the “Heiligeneich III” residential building project took place on May 22, 2025. This project, initiated by Gedesag from Krems, aims to significantly expand the housing offering in the region. As part of the construction project, a total of 34 subsidized apartments and 10 terraced houses will be created, all of which will be offered for rent with an option to purchase. Completion is scheduled for fall 2026, underscoring the high demand for housing in the area.
The terraced houses will have a living space of approx. 106 m² and also include an approx. 57 m² cellar and a loggia. The 34 apartments are models with 2 to 4 rooms, the sizes of which vary between 57 and 85 m². Barrier-free elevator systems are provided for all units, ensuring barrier-free accessibility. Furthermore, the apartments will be equipped with loggias, while the ground floor apartments will have their own gardens.
Sustainability and infrastructure
A particular focus of this project is on resource-saving construction. The underground car park will help to ensure efficient use of space. Additional amenities include a children's playground designed to delight the youngest residents, as well as space for community activities. The region already has numerous facilities such as schools, kindergartens, local suppliers and medical facilities that ensure a high quality of life.
Gedesag and Mayor Beate Jilch (ÖVP) emphasize the high construction quality and sustainable construction of the project. It is assumed that young families and young adults in particular will show great interest in the new apartments and terraced houses. The range of social housing projects is characterized above all by the strict competition and selection procedures, which ensure that only high-quality and needs-oriented solutions are implemented. This is in line with the approach of wohnberatung-wien.at, which is committed to creating environmentally friendly living space at affordable rents.
In this project, too, Gedesag will ensure that all the required quality requirements are met in order to be recognized as a subsidized housing project. Access to subsidized housing is particularly important, as the maximum income limits for rental apartments are €59,320 for one person and €111,660 for four people, while the values for subsidized owner-occupied apartments are correspondingly higher, as the current guidelines show.
The realization of “Heiligeneich III” not only expands the housing offering, but also creates a sustainable and liveable living environment that takes the needs of future residents into account. The good connection to public transport and the regional road network ideally round off the offer.
