Art for everyone: Discover the open studio days in Retz

The Open Studio Days are just around the corner and promise an exciting weekend full of creative development. On October 19th and 20th, the Retz district invites you to the largest exhibition of fine arts and crafts in Austria, which presents numerous local artists and their works. This year, the focus is particularly on the nostalgic figure of the Doppler, which will be honored at the opening event.

The motto “Where art is at home” is embodied by the artist Sandhase, who is behind Gerald Dick. His works promise a fascinating creation that combines both poetry and the tangible. At the opening event there will be a special event with the musical presence of Gerald Etzler: live music that responds to the question “Where is the Doppler?” enters. This event is part of a larger art event in which 93 artists exhibit their works in a total of 32 towns in the district.

An overview of the exhibitions

Retz will be a central point, as the largest group exhibition takes place here. With 14 artists involved, including Ernst Fusser and Lorna Panzenbock, a wide range of works of art is available to visitors. Their workshops not only invite you to marvel, but also offer the opportunity to talk to the artists. And the best thing about it: Entry to all of these exhibitions is free.

In the town of Hart, also known as Hart-Aschendorf, visitors can admire the works of Felix Cumpel, among others. Art is also presented here in the form of bizarre objects. Things also get interesting in Sonnberg: The photo club shows a variety of artistic works that invite you to linger. Particularly worth mentioning are the impressive photographs by Silvia Reßel, who explores creative motifs.

In Ziersdorf, five artists present their views on art, including Anita Saldinger-Karger, whose works are sometimes challenging and make you think. This creative exchange is what makes the Open Studio Days so unique: different styles and approaches are visible here, with something for every artistic taste.

The diversity of the artists is also reflected in the many towns involved in the event. In Bösendürnbach, Maria Haas shows an unusual perspective on textile art with her “mobile sewing studio”. Meanwhile, in Dietmannsdorf, Manfred Lasser and Erika Schneider are presenting a group exhibition that illustrates the communal power of art. Art also comes to life in other places such as Guntersdorf, Pulkau and Kalladorf.

In summary, the Open Studio Days are a wonderful opportunity to discover the creative diversity of the Retz district. Whether in small workshops or large exhibitions - art can be found everywhere that invites you to discover and experience it. A comprehensive program makes it possible to get in touch with artists and admire their unique art. The event not only promotes exchange between artists and art lovers, but also helps to make the local cultural scene more visible.

Detailed information about the participating artists and their exhibitions can be found on local platforms that support the preparations for this significant art event. An event not to be missed for anyone interested in art!
