As part of the new EU regulation, the establishment of a trustworthy AI infrastructure in the administration is further advanced. This includes implementing a code of conduct for the uniform labeling of AI systems. The RTR acts as a regulatory authority for the radio and telecommunications market in Austria and actively supports the implementation of the AI Act.

background of the EU AI act

The eu ai act represents a comprehensive regulation that specifies harmonized regulations for AI systems. Depending on their risk classification, it regulates these systems from fully prohibited applications to those that must meet specific requirements. Innovation-promoting guidelines apply to AI systems with high risk that must meet strict documentation, monitoring and quality requirements. Providers and users of these systems are responsible for fulfilling the justified requirements.

The transparency obligations for AI systems that interact with natural persons are particularly noteworthy. These must be clearly informed if users interact with a AI system or artificially generated content in order to avoid misunderstandings. A code of conduct will help to implement these obligations effectively and to ensure compliance.

The obligation to transparency also extends to AI systems that generate synthetic content. Affected persons should always be clearly informed that they interact with a AI system. This obligation is particularly important to promote the trust of the public in advanced technologies.
