New enjoyment in Althofen: Genusshafen” opens with free beer and music!
The leisure facility in Althofen opened the outdoor pool season on May 17, 2025 and at the same time celebrated the reopening of the “pleasure harbor” under the direction of Martina Leitgeb. The experienced restaurateur, who is already successful with “Tante Mina’s Imbiss” in the Industriepark Süd, is now also taking over the catering at the leisure facility. Numerous guests came to the celebrations and were welcomed with music, free beer and home-style cooking. The beer tapping took place with regional support, and special congratulations were expressed to Martina and Thomas Leitgeb, as well as to the representatives of Murauer Bier, deputy mayor Michael Baumgartner and city councilor Klaus Trampitsch.
The new “pleasure harbor” offers space for around 50 guests indoors and around 120 on the partially covered sun terrace. The food offering includes home-style cuisine with dishes such as schnitzel, cevapcici and cordon bleu, with vegetarian and vegan options also available. For the coming summer period, daily all-you-can-eat buffets are planned in July and August, which are available to adults for 12.90 euros and to children at reduced prices. The neighboring “Aunt Mina’s Kiosk” also promises colorful snacks and cool drinks for your beach trip.
Opening times and offers
The outdoor swimming pool at the leisure facility is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Opening hours will be extended to 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. by the end of the season. The kiosk opens from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. For individual catering requests, Martina Leitgeb offers the option of pre-ordering at 0676/3384742. In addition, culinary activities are planned for the fall, which include special days with ribs, schnitzels and fried chicken.
This new opening is in line with current gastronomy trends, which place an increasing focus on regional and sustainable products, as Hanni Rützler's Food Report 2024 states. Regionality and innovative production methods are becoming more and more important, which does not remain unaffected in Althofen. The trend towards plant-based foods and the demand for new gastronomic concepts are clearly reflected in the offerings at the “Genusshafen” and the kiosk.
Martina Leitgeb and her team are optimistic and ready to take enjoyment to the next level.
