Motorcycle accidents in Tyrol: Two drivers seriously injured after collision!

On June 25, 2025, around 3:55 p.m. in the municipal area of Dölsach there was a serious traffic accident between two motorcycles at the B100/B107 intersection. According to the [dolomitenstadt.at] (https://www.dolomitenstadt.at/2025/06/25/doelsach-kollision- between-motorraedern/), the 69-year-old Austrian motorcyclist, who introduced from the B107 into the B100, was confronted with a 52-year-old motorcyclist from France. The older driver overlooked the motorcyclist coming from the direction of B100, which led to a right -angled collision and the fall of both motorcycle drivers.

The injuries to the two men were serious. The 69-year-old suffered indefinite injuries and was brought to the Lienz district hospital. The 52-year-old was also admitted to the same hospital, but due to the severity of his injuries, he later had to be flown to the Innsbruck State Hospital with an emergency helicopter. A total of three police patrols, the Lienz emergency services and an emergency doctor vehicle were deployed for the rescue measures.

Another serious traffic accident

Two days earlier, on June 21, 2025, a 53-year-old motorcyclist from Switzerland had an accident on Achensee Bundesstraße (B181) near Achenkirch. The accident occurred around 4:10 p.m. when the motorcyclist crashed into the rear of a bending vehicle because the 46-year-old driver reduced his speed. The motorcyclist remained seriously injured on the edge of the road and was flown to the Innsbruck State Hospital after the first aid.

increasing number of accidents

The increasing number of traffic accidents, especially involving motorcycles, throws a questionable light on safety in road traffic. According to preliminary numbers of the bmi.gv.at, 152 traffic fatalities are already to be complained in Austria in 2025 to June 22, which means an increase compared to the 132 road dead in 2024. A total of seven motorcyclists died in the week before these accidents, which also underlines the risks on the streets.

The causes of many of these accidents are often non -fully adapted speeds, carelessness or priority violations. In view of these worrying statistics, it becomes clear that it is urgently necessary to focus on traffic safety and to sensitize both motorized drivers and other road users to possible dangers.
