Bankruptcy shock for Carinthia's event professional Jagerhofer: 32 million euros bankrupt!
The Klagenfurt company myrobin, headed by the well-known event professional Hannes Jagerhofer, filed for bankruptcy on May 22, 2025. This step became necessary because the company, which operated as a shipping platform to sustainably improve the logistics industry, needed additional financing to secure sales and further development of its app. However, discussions with potential donors were unsuccessful, which led to the cessation of operations. A corresponding application for official closure has already been submitted. The insolvency proceedings were opened at the Klagenfurt regional court, with liabilities of around 3.9 million euros and assets of around 772,590 euros being identified. The over-indebtedness amounts to around 3.2 million euros, which affects around 30 creditors. They can register their claims until June 23, 2025. Klagenfurt lawyer Bernhard Fink was appointed as insolvency administrator, a circumstance that underlines the severity of the situation. These developments show how challenging the current financial situation is for startups, especially in an environment where investments are cautious.
Additional bankruptcy of Acts Communication
At the same time, Jagerhofer's other company, Acts Communication GesmbH, also filed for bankruptcy. This was also submitted on Monday by self-application in Klagenfurt. The liabilities of this company amount to six million euros with around 80 creditors. The assets, on the other hand, amount to around 6.7 million euros, which is why there is no over-indebtedness here, but rather insolvency. The bankruptcy affects three employees and the company will not continue as a going concern. Jagerhofer, a native of Klagenfurt, has made a name for himself as an independent entrepreneur since 1985, with a career that has spanned sporting events to founding the travel and flight search engine Checkfelix.
Most recently, Jagerhofer wanted to bring his beach volleyball tournament, a popular event in the region, back to Pörtschach. But after the main sponsor A1 withdrew, no new sponsor could be found, which led to the cancellation of the tournament. This shows the difficulties faced by Jagerhofer and his companies.
Industry trends in the event sector
In a broader context, Event Inc Group's MICE Report 2024 shows that 90% of companies plan to hold more or the same number of corporate events in the coming year. 53% of companies consider company events to be more important than ever after the restrictions caused by the corona pandemic. This reflects the increasing trend towards “eventization” in the B2B sector, which is also changing the way events are organized. The average cost per person per meeting day has increased, forcing companies to rethink their budgets and event strategies.
Over 80% of the companies surveyed attach importance to a sustainable organization of their events and more than half are prepared to bear additional costs for this. These requirements pose additional challenges for event professionals like Jagerhofer, whose strategies and approaches may no longer be up to date and who now have to assert themselves in a difficult market.
