Confectional shock for Carinthia's event professional Jagerhofer: 32 million euros bankrupt!

The Klagenfurt company Myrobin, head of the well-known event professional Hannes Jagerhofer, submitted bankruptcy on May 22, 2025. This step became necessary because the company, which worked as a shipping platform to sustainably improving the logistics industry, needed additional funding to secure the distribution and further development of its app. Discussions with potential donors, however, were unsuccessful, which led to the employment of the company. A corresponding application for the official closure has already been made. The bankruptcy proceedings were opened at the Klagenfurt regional court, with liabilities of around 3.9 million euros and assets of around 772,590 euros. The over -indebtedness amounts to around 3.2 million euros, which concerns about 30 creditors. These can register your claims by June 23, 2025. As the insolvency administrator, the lawyer Bernhard Fink was appointed, a fact that underlines the severity of the situation. These developments show how challenging the current financial situation for startups is, especially in an environment in which investments are reluctant.

Additional bankruptcy of acts communication

At the same time, Jagerhofer's other company, the acts communication gesmbH, also reported bankruptcy. This was also submitted on Monday by her own application in Klagenfurt. The liabilities of this company are six million euros in around 80 creditors. The assets, on the other hand, amount to around 6.7 million euros, which is why there is no over -indebtedness, but insolvency. The bankruptcy affects three employees and the company is not continued. Jagerhofer, a native of Klagenfurt, has made a name for itself as an independent entrepreneur since 1985, with a career that extends from sporting events to the founding of the REIST and flight search engine Checkfelix.

Finally, Jagerhofer wanted to bring his beach volleyball tournament back to Pörtschach, a popular event in the region. But after the withdrawal of the main sponsor A1, no new sponsor could be found, which led to the cancellation of the tournament. This shows the difficulties with which Jagerhofer and his companies are confronted.

industry trends in the event sector

In a broader context, the Mice Report 2024 of the Event Inc Group shows that 90% of companies are planning to carry out more or the same number of company events in the coming year. 53% of companies consider company events to be more important than ever after the restrictions caused by Corona pandemic. This reflects the increasing trend towards "events" in the B2B area, which also changes the way in which events are organized. The average costs per person and conference day have increased, which forces companies to rethink their budgets and their event strategies.

Over 80% of the companies surveyed attach great importance to the sustainable alignment of their events and more than half is ready to bear additional costs for this. These requirements provide additional challenges for event professionals such as Jagerhofer, whose strategies and approaches may no longer be up to date and that now have to assert themselves in a difficult market.
