On November 15, the Advent magic in Villach was heralded with the ceremonial opening of the Advent market. The city shines in a festive sea of lights, and the anticipation for the upcoming holidays is noticeable. The first highlight of the day was a visit to the parish church. Mayor Günther Albel, pastor Richard Pirker and the "church mice" by Maria Landskron contributed to a varied program for young and old.
The visitors gathered around the church on Rathausplatz, where Sandra Pires together with children who had applied through social media. Particular attention was paid to the impressive Christmas lights, which gave the evening and created a festive atmosphere.
Advent delights
With the opening, the market proment also started, which filled the city center with special offers and seductive scents, such as that of frankincense. The main square also offered numerous Advent huts in which mulled wine and other treats could be enjoyed. The entire place was revitalized and in a festive atmosphere.
The event on Nikolaiplatz, where the Kunstadvent took place, was also particularly remarkable. Here exhibitors had the opportunity to present their handicraft products. The huts were open from Thursday to Sunday and on public holidays. Every Saturday an additional program highlight is offered that brings the traditional craft alive. For example, visitors were able to look over the shoulder of the knife smith while grinding or admire the art of wood carving.

The "Experience Crafts" concept enables guests to immerse yourself in the world of craft. In particular, the renaissance of the beer spikes and the art of turning attracted interest. The unique ambience and the possibility of experiencing the craft up close made the Kunstadvent an unforgettable experience.
