Matweber gained practical experience in workshops, including at Saager Castle and at Kunst Summer Viktring, that influenced their work.
social criticism in art
The artist Karin Klomann pursues a similar concern, who is currently showing her socially critical works in the “above and below” exhibition in the foyer of the Frankenthal town hall. This exhibition, which runs until February 28th, addresses current problems such as the refugee crisis, the emergency in sewing factories in Bangladesh and poverty in Germany. Klomann, who was also trained and is considered an active member of the Frankenthaler Kunstverein Die Treidler, brings a powerful message to public space due to her real -life art.
The artist presents three new, previously unpublished paintings. These works reflect the tornness of migrants and show the urgent need to address social grievances. At the age of 70, Klomann developed a deep artistic experience horizon that shapes her work.
art and psychology: an equivalent interaction
The connection between art and psychology has long been an interesting field of research. As the website scientific-kunst.de shows, aspects of art perception and the creative creative process are also examined in psychological research. Art is used in a variety of ways in clinical and applied psychology to promote emotional reactions and to support the recovery of psychological problems.
The relationship between the work of art and viewer is complex. Factors such as extra version and neuroticism influence the way art is enjoyed. Artistic forms of expression can also serve as an coping mechanism and support the processing of profound emotional experiences. This can be found in Matweeber's works that tell stories as well as in Klomann's critical examination of social issues.
Visitors to the galleries and exhibitions are invited to be inspired by a wide variety of perspectives and to discover the stories behind the works of art. Art has the potential not only to give aesthetic joy, but also to promote deeper, social dialogues.
