On Sunday morning, June 15, 2025, there was a major fire shortly after 9 a.m. in a car workshop on Rorschacher Strasse in Mörschwil, canton of St. Gallen. A 53-year-old man was brought to the hospital due to suspicion of flue gas poisoning. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported. In order not to hinder the extinguishing work, the corresponding road section of Rorschacher Straße had to be blocked in both directions for several hours. A detour was set up to lead the traffic around the site.

The St. Gallen public prosecutor's office commissioned the Cantonal Police Competence Center to determine the cause of the fire. Such fires often raise questions about security and the causes of fire.
