Fuchs in Mödling saved from light shaft - animal rescuers in action!

Mödling, Niederösterreich, Österreich - On June 10, 2025, the Mödling volunteer fire brigade was called for an animal emergency. An exhausted fox had fallen into a light shaft of a single -family house and found no way out. The emergency services reacted quickly and with the necessary specialist knowledge to safely free the animal. Two firefighters equipped with special animal rescue gloves rose through a window into the light shaft.

With skill and caution, they managed to secure the fox and put it in an animal rescue basket. After successful exemption, the animal was released into freedom in an adjacent forest, where hopefully there can be strength. This campaign shows the fire brigade's commitment to animal welfare and respectful use of wild animals, which is also reflected in other missions.

other animal rescue actions

Another example of the helpful work of the Mödling fire brigade took place on May 1, 2025. At that time, the fire brigade was alerted because a falcon was fixed in a plane tree on plastic threads that it had used for the nest building. To free the bird, the emergency services set up a lifting vehicle and blocked the street.

The firefighters used scissors to obey the falcon and removed the rest of the loops from his foot. Since the falcon was unharmed, it could be let back into freedom after a short time. In addition, the fire brigade was forward enough to remove all plastic threads from the nest to minimize the risk of further emergencies. The entire use lasted about an hour and again demonstrated the important role of the fire brigade in animal welfare.

meaning of animal protection

Animal welfare is not only a local concern, but is of crucial importance globally. Every living being has the right to life in freedom and should be protected. Neglecting in animal welfare can have serious consequences for future generations because they endanger the ecological balance. This underlines the need for ethical practices in dealing with animals and the importance of volunteering in animal welfare.

committed volunteers have the opportunity to work in various projects worldwide, be it in Germany, Europe, Africa or Hawaii. The offers include the maintenance of street dogs and cats, support in supporting stations for wildlife and the cooperation in species protection. Such activities not only help to deepen the knowledge of animal care, but also actively contribute to the protection and maintenance of species.

The operations of the Mödling fire brigade not only serve to save individual animals, but also expression of a deeply rooted responsibility towards nature and encourage other commitment in the field of animal welfare.
