Constable crowns themselves after thrills in the flag football final!

In the exciting final of the Flag Liga Ladies 2025, which took place as part of the Sport Austria Finals Powered by Austrian Lotteries, the Vienna Constables competed against the Domzale Tigers from Slovenia. The event attracted numerous spectators and was translated live on Sportsriafinals.tv and delayed to ORF Sport+, while admission to both games was free. The Constables were at the height of their season after they ended the regular season in first place and were already state champions

The game offered tension right from the start. The Tigers took the lead early, but the Viennese could not be discouraged. Katrin Mansbart, who commented on the game, had expected a tight match. In fact, the Constables proved to be stubborn opponents who took the lead shortly before the end. In a dramatic final minute, however, the Tigers turned the game, which could have entered a further defeat in the final in a row. But at a crucial moment, the Viennese put everything on one card and achieved the Game-Winning touchdown by receiver Franziska Sottner, only three seconds before the end of the music box.

a worthy final

The final score was 37:34 for the Constables, which were able to achieve the championship title of the FLL. Head coach Robert Riedl described the final as worthy and at a high level, which gave the last phase of the game a special charm. In his opinion, the last drive was the result of hard work and perfect moves. In the past, the Constages had lost the finals 2023 and 2024 and were finally able to cheer.

In the game for third place, the Amstetten Thunder prevailed 34: 7 against the Delasalle Saints. This encounter also took place in Innsbruck and contributed to the exciting atmosphere of the event. While the Flag Football season 2024 comes to an end with the superfinals at the end of October, the Austrian women's national team is already preparing for international competitions, including the World Games in China in August and the European Championship in Paris in September.

For the men's national team, which is under the direction of head coach Robert Riedl, a training camp in Mexico and the USA take place to prepare more intensively for the European Championship in September. In the middle of these exciting developments in the Football flag remains to be seen how the Austrian teams will assert themselves in international comparison.
