Vienna is celebrating: Taubenkobel pop-up Vogelfrei” delights gourmets!

The renowned Taubenkobel restaurant is celebrating its tenth anniversary of pop-up events with a special event this year. Under the motto “Vogelfrei” a unique culinary experience will be offered from November 14th to December 21st, 2025 in the Atelier Augarten, a center for contemporary art in Vienna-Leopoldstadt. The hosts are the elegant Barbara Eselböck and the internationally awarded chef Alain Weissgerber, both prominent in the fine dining scene.

Taubenkobel, which has two Michelin stars, has made a name for itself since 2015 through creative pop-up events in various, often unexpected locations. The concept of this year's event is characterized by the idea of ​​freedom, which is evident both on the menu and throughout the gastronomic experience. This includes a combination of art, architecture and cuisine, designed to provide guests with a holistic experience.

Menu options and prices

As part of “Vogelfrei”, visitors have the choice between two different menu options. The exquisite “Hochflug” menu at €220 per person promises a first-class fine dining experience, while the lighter “Zwitscherflug” menu at €120 is only available from Monday to Wednesday. These menus present creative reinterpretations of Taubenkobel classics and reflect the transition from autumn to winter.

In addition, guests have the opportunity to enjoy biodynamic wines from Burgenland, which are carefully selected and served to match the restaurant's dishes. The accompaniment of hand-made ceramics rounds off the comprehensive experience.

The breathtaking location

The Atelier Augarten, where the event takes place, offers a unique setting: it combines baroque architecture with modern galleries and light-flooded rooms that are perfectly designed for the festive atmosphere. Early reservations are strongly recommended due to the high demand for the event.
