Europapark Rust: Voltron Nevera temporarily closed due to a technical breakdown

An incident in the popular Europapark Rust caused a stir. The “Voltron Nevera” roller coaster, which opened in April 2024, had to be temporarily shut down due to a technical problem. Visitors reported a loud bang in which a large piece of metal, possibly a screw, came off and fell into the pool below.

On Sunday, October 6th, numerous eyewitnesses recorded the incident. A witness commented on this and described: "We were all sitting together at a food stand just a few meters from the train when suddenly there was a loud bang. Of course we were all frightened and looked around." Not a nice moment at all for the thrill seekers who wanted to experience the high feeling on the roller coaster.

Technical problems and quick reactions

Park officials confirmed the incident and said that a roller coaster rail support was affected. A team of specialists immediately began repairs. Europapark addressed the public via the X platform (formerly Twitter) and assured that the safety of passengers was guaranteed throughout the incident. The passengers who had been looking forward to exciting rollercoaster experiences were able to be served again a short time later.

“Voltron” is considered one of the fastest attractions in the park, reaching speeds of up to 100 km/h. The highlight are the seven overhead flips, which give the passengers pure adrenaline rushes. It's only understandable that a technical problem immediately causes confusion and dampens the urge to ride the roller coaster.

This wasn't the first time "Voltron" made headlines. During test drives in the spring, a car stopped, which also led to the use of a crane. Furthermore, the roller coaster “Blue Fire Megacoaster” made a name for itself in September when it got stuck on its side and passengers had to wait for help in this unpleasant position for 40 minutes.

However, Europapark emphasizes that the number of technical malfunctions is considered small compared to the total number of rides. “The disruptions are by no means abnormal,” said a park spokesman. Despite these incidents, the attraction remains a popular destination for visitors who want to enjoy the thrill of the ride.
