Strong together: New contact points against domestic violence in Mattersburg
In a committed initiative to combat violence in relationships, a new step has now been taken in the state capital Eisenstadt and in Mattersburg. The “Districts Without Partner Violence” initiative aims to raise awareness of domestic violence against women and children through prevention work. Each individual is encouraged to act with moral courage to help those affected.
In a press conference held in Eisenstadt, several local leaders highlighted the importance of this initiative. These included Mattersburg Mayor Claudia Schlager, Deputy Governor Astrid Eisenkopf and Eisenstadt Mayor Thomas Steiner. They pointed out that, in addition to supporting those affected, preventive measures are also of great importance.
Actions against violence
The reason for the new edition of this initiative is the upcoming “16 Days Against Violence” campaign, which will draw public attention to the alarming figures of domestic violence. In this context, the call for civil courage is also being strengthened in order to create social awareness that influences the issue across party lines.
During the presentation, Elke Aufner-Hergovich from the “Die Tür” association emphasized how crucial it is that the community stands together. Through preventative measures and active support for those affected by violence, an open culture of discussion should be created that helps and encourages the victims.
The expansion of the contact points in Eisenstadt and Mattersburg is an important step in offering local people help and contact points. The initiative will help ensure that victims of domestic violence no longer have to suffer in silence. Those affected should be encouraged to open up and seek help.
The conference participants agreed that the issue of intimate partner violence is a challenge that must be addressed with determination. The commitment to creating safe spaces and actively supporting victims is at the heart of the new contact points and preventative programs.
These developments are not only locally important, but also reflect an important social concern. Creating safer living conditions for women and children is a goal that everyone should strive for, and the new offerings in Eisenstadt and Mattersburg represent a crucial step in this direction.
