Fire brigade youth in Steinbrunn: Over 380 examinees shine in the knowledge test!

On Saturday, March 15, 2025, an exciting knowledge test took place in the Steinbrunn fire station, in which around 380 young people from the Eisenstadt-Raum, Eisenstadt and Rust districts demonstrated their skills. In a competition that included both theoretical and practical tasks, the participants aged 10 to 16 were able to shine and each one passed the exam. To celebrate their success, they received certificates and badges recognizing their achievements, such as Fireworld.at reported.

The exams were organized and taken by over 40 assessors, with district youth officer Julia Ivancsits emphasizing how important these events are for the fire department youth: "The fire department youth is the future of our emergency organization. With this exam, the young people show how much they have already learned and that they are well prepared for the challenges ahead." Numerous high-ranking guests were also present at the honorary badge award ceremony, including Mayor Isabella Radatz-Grauszer and state fire brigade commander Franz Kropf.

Valuable training work

The Steinbrunn Volunteer Fire Department invests a lot in training its youth team. This meets at least once a week to prepare for knowledge tests, performance competitions and active service. Particular emphasis is placed on practical training, which involves realistic operational scenarios. Aside from the training, the members also have fun on excursions such as bowling and swimming, which strengthens the sense of community. Young people are allowed to join the fire department in the year of their 10th birthday and can make valuable friends in the process. Anyone interested is welcome to attend the weekly practice sessions, which usually take place on Fridays at 5:30 p.m voluntary-fire-brigade-steinbrunn.webnode.page reported.
