Bregenz Festival before the crisis: Massively shortened federal funding!
The Bregenz Festival may face serious savings, since the Ministry of Culture is planning to halve the federal funding from 2.8 million euros to around 1.4 million euros. Minister of Culture Andreas Babler (SPÖ) has considered this reduction and the Ministry of Culture confirmed that all the sponsors were informed about the upcoming changes. However, no new financial framework conditions have been discussed.
On May 5, the chairman of the board of trustees Theresia Niedermüller informed the festival about the "new budgetary requirements". Press spokeswoman Babette Karner explained that a curatorial meeting on June 25th is due to obtain further information about the cuts. The savings plans have already led to a lively debate in the Vorarlberg state parliament, whereby the opposition parties in particular sharply criticized the savings in the cultural sector. Governor Markus Wallner (ÖVP) also referred to the planned reductions of the federal government.
a complete application for subsidy
In order to apply for funding successfully, it is necessary to submit a complete application for subsidy. This includes a detailed text part in which the project description and the financial plan must be explained. The requirements are clear: Forms and guidelines of the subsidiary must be strictly observed in order to avoid rejection.
A self -description of the association or the responsible artist should be attached, especially when submitting the first. This is what previous activities, acting people and club structures are to be listed. On top of that, club statutes and a current excerpt from the association are often required.
financing plan and planned expenses
The application plan for the application shows the cost structure and deals with the handling of the applicable subsidies. Planned expenses are diverse and include fee, public relations, room rents, transport costs and material costs. Unexpected costs that can make up 5-10% of the total editions should also be planned. vorarlberg.AT
The income from the financial plan is made up of various sources, including subsidies, own income, sponsorship and donations. Voluntary services and own work must also be made visible. These details are crucial to support the load -bearing capacity of a project. Detailed information and practical examples for the application are available in the brochure "Survival in the funding jungle".
