Andy Marek excludes Rapid Presidium: criticism and emotions in focus!

Wien, Österreich - Andy Marek, known from his many years of work at SK Rapid, has announced that it is not available for a position in the Presidium of the Association. He announced this on Saturday via his Instagram profile. Marek justifies his decision with the sometimes negative reactions to an article of 90 minutes, in which he was considering a possible role as a member of the Presidium. Despite positive feedback, Marek was also faced with a variety of critical voices that, both his close connection to the active fan scene and his management skills.

In his statement, Marek said that he would not become active, but did not want to rule out inquiries in principle. However, he clearly ruled out a candidacy for the office of Rapid President. He expressed that many of the critical comments he received were "under the belt" and that he no longer wanted to go to hostility and personal attacks. Marek misses the club since its farewell in February 2020, but does not feel ready to expose itself to an official function of criticism.
