Cultural Awards 2025: Apply now for art and creativity!

The state of Lower Austria will also revive the art scene in 2025 with the annual awarding of the renowned cultural prizes, which make a strong statement for creativity and innovation. From today, March 3rd, until April 4th, 2025, artists are called upon to submit their outstanding works from various disciplines. State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner emphasizes that these cultural awards have been an important part of cultural exchange since 1960, promoting creative visions and honoring significant achievements. Prize winners receive an appreciation prize of 13,000 euros and two recognition prizes of 6,000 euros each in categories such as visual arts, performing arts, literature and many more. The special focus for 2025 is the special prize for exhibition design, which honors innovative and barrier-free concepts in order to appeal to a broad audience.

Participation is intended for cultural workers who live in Lower Austria or whose works enrich the country's cultural identity. The submitted works must come from the last two years or represent ongoing projects that impress with their originality and artistic quality. The winners are selected by expert juries in the various categories. The celebratory award ceremony will take place on October 23, 2025 in the St. Pölten Festival Hall noe.gv.at reported.

Diverse works of art and projects

Another notable aspect of Lower Austria's cultural scene is the wide variety of works of art created by local artists. These range from drawings to oil paintings to innovative installations. An example is the work “Sonata” by Bazant-Hegemark Christian from 2010, which is offered for 8,000 euros. Another artist, Jurtitsch Richard, is offering an impressive oil painting for 12,000 euros. Many of these works, such as the unique collaborative work by Clemens Fürtler and Moritz Friedel, demonstrate the dynamic and experimental nature of contemporary art in the region. These initiatives and works of art reflect the strong cultural pulse of Lower Austria and are part of a creative exchange that has an impact beyond the state's borders ots.at determines.
