GARTEN TULLN celebrates over 4 million visitors: a green paradise is blooming!

The “Nature in the Garden” adventure world in Tulln, southern Lower Austria, has reached an impressive milestone and is celebrating its 4 millionth visitor. This ecological garden show, which opened in 2008, impresses with over 70 ecologically maintained model gardens and numerous attractions. To this day, it continues to attract visitors year after year who are interested in organic gardening and nature.

The visitor record was reached in June 2025, when GARTEN TULLN already exceeded the striking mark of 3 million visitors. State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner describes the GARTEN TULLN as a “lighthouse project for all of Europe”. This is not only a sign of the garden show's continued success, but also shows how important sustainable and ecological concepts are in today's world.

Diverse attractions and offers

The GARTEN TULLN extends over 7 hectares and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from April to October. The facility is completely barrier-free, allowing all visitors to enjoy the beauty of the ecological gardens. The attractions include a 30-meter-high treetop walkway that offers breathtaking views of the Danube landscape, and the largest adventure and nature playground in Lower Austria.

Additionally, individual group tours are offered, and a free audio guide called “Hearonymus” is available to give visitors further insights into the ecology and design of the gardens. Visitors can also go boating in the water park or enjoy culinary offerings such as the water lily terrace or the Gaumenweide restaurant.

Importance for the region and visitors

Mayor Peter Eisenschenk emphasizes Tulln’s important position as “Austria’s garden city”. The managing director of GARTEN TULLN, Franz Gruber, emphasizes the enthusiasm for organic gardening and the commitment to sustainable practices. GARTEN TULLN follows the three core criteria of the Lower Austrian environmental movement: the avoidance of chemical-synthetic pesticides and fertilizers as well as peat.

In this context, a celebration took place in honor of the 4 millionth visitor, Fritz Haselsteiner. He received a warm welcome along with his daughter Karoline. On this occasion, the state governor, the mayor, the deputy mayor and the managing director presented gifts, including a bouquet of roses and a gift basket.
