New government is forming: Exciting personnel decisions in Austria!

In the middle of extensive political changes in Austria, the ÖVP, the SPÖ and the NEOS presented a new government program on Thursday, which outlines the strategies for coping with impending challenges on 210 pages. Before the official commissioning, which could take place next Monday, the NEOs will have to stop a membership decision on their coalition participation until Sunday, as Today.at

new ministers and exciting distribution of department

The personnel issues in the SPÖ have now been largely clarified. Vice Chancellor Andreas Babler will not only lead home policy, but also take over the agendas for culture, media and sport. The finance ministries are occupied by Markus Marterbauer, while Peter Hanke is responsible for the infrastructure sector. The judiciary also receives a new minister with Anna Sporrer, as was first reported by Ö1. In the ÖVP, on the other hand, everything remains relatively quiet, since well -known faces such as Klaudia Tanner (defense) and Gerhard Karner (inside) will continue their posts.

The new ÖVP boss Christian Stocker will take over the Chancellery and promises that the new government will set fresh accents, even if continuity is in key functions. Stocker explains: "Let yourself be surprised!" Among the future ÖVP ministries there are a few key departments such as business, youth and family, whereby the final distribution of the state secretariats is still open, such as vienna.at reported.

The Neos, as a smaller coalition party, will be represented in the new government with Beate Meinl-Reisinger as Foreign Minister and Christoph Return as Minister of Education. Other personal details, such as the occupation of a State Secretary for Deregulation, are still unclear, which increases the anticipation for the soon to take office. This government formation promises to lead Austria with new approaches and fresh faces in turbulent times.
