drama on Lake Grundlsee: In a gripping rescue operation, a chamois that was caught on the ice of the frozen lake was saved by professional hunter Manfred Gumpinger and a colleague. On January 15, 2025, Gumpinger was busy feeding deer when he received the alarming call. The Gams was about 15 meters from the shore and could no longer get up due to the smooth surface. The rescue team immediately set off to help the frightened goat. Since the ice was too fragile to go on it, creative solutions were asked. At first some attempts to rescue fail, but finally the men managed to bind a rope with a piece of wood and grasp the chamois with it, such as .
The dramatic scenes not only caused excitement on site, but were also hotly discussed on social media. After the gams had been saved, she was brought home to Gumpinger, where she could spend the night. It was reported that the animal had already eaten and gradually recovered. Nevertheless, the first signs of injuries were shown when the hind legs of the gams were affected by constant slipping on the ice. A muscle overstretch could be the cause of the injuries. Gumpinger added that the chamois had been provided with an ear mark to make sure that it cannot be shot when the release later.
