FPÖ-Medienhaus: Hafenecker urges reforms and compares with GDR
Laimgrubengasse 10, 1060 Wien, Österreich - The FPÖ caused a sensation on March 5, 2025 with a press conference in Vienna. FPÖ-EU member Petra Steger and NaBg. Mag. Gernot Darmann presented a recording that emphasizes both her political views as well as the clear rejection of censorship and hidden camera shots. According to Steger, the use of the video is only intended for reporting on the press conference, but no source notice is required, such as OTS reported.
FPÖ general secretary Christian Hafenecker also came to the public to present the newly founded FPÖ media house. He criticized the reporting of journalists from the "Standard" and "Falter" by making a comparison to the GDR. Hafenecker said that if journalists had the feeling that they had to work with hidden cameras, this is not necessary: "People act here." He also emphasized that this behavior occurs not only at the FPÖ, but also with the ÖVP, and questioned the objectivity of the media. The FPÖ media house should be expanded in the future, whereby all channels are to be bundled. This was confirmed by SN
The FPÖ also plans its own radio appearance to increase its reach and establish a more direct connection to the population. With over 2.4 million citizens achieved, Hafenecker emphasized the need for reforming the promotion of press in Austria, while he implied that the current media landscape may not work optimally.
