Citizens' house wave celebrates 25 years of local radio: a look behind the scenes!
A quarter of a century of local Radio and a tireless team - the community of the community center in Erkrath celebrates 25 years of broadcasting! It all started in 1999 with a call in the newspaper for using the Media room of the VHS. Since then, Volker Förster, Jan Sundermann, Wolfgang Scheurer and Angela Hauk have been tirelessly active to offer the listeners exciting content. Jan Sundermann remembers the "bumpy start" when a small group of radioenhusiasts came together. Erkrath now reports that the first broadcast was broadcast around the Neanderthal Museum in 2000. Since then, numerous interesting contributions and guests, including prominent moderators, have become part of their success story.
colorful programs and committed citizens
In the past 25 years, the team of the community center wave has produced around 250 programs, all of which have been created by intensive preparation and research. The members work for about 12 hours for each program to ensure that quality and content are right. Volker Förster, the longest serving in the team, emphasizes: "We are all all -rounders, but everyone has their favorite area." The programs are never live, but always carefully prepared and reworked. This long-term commitment to citizens' radio underlines the importance of non-commercial media in the region and offers a wide audience exciting insights into local cultural and club life.
