Hamilton to Ferrari: A risky step or the path to success?
The rumors about Lewis Hamilton's move to Ferrari in 2025 continue to cause excitement in Formula 1. Motorsport expert Gary Anderson expressed his concerns about this development: "If Ferrari sees Lewis as the god who will get the team out of all its problems, then I think that's crazy." He emphasizes that Ferrari works very differently than the teams Hamilton has previously driven for. “Ferrari is a family-oriented culture in Italy, so that will be very, very difficult for him,” Anderson continued.
Hamilton commitment and team dynamics
By signing the seven-time champion, Ferrari is pursuing the goal of returning to the top of Formula 1. However, Anderson is convinced that success will not come overnight. "You can't just flip a switch. Ferrari has to slowly turn things up, make the car more competitive and give the drivers the tools they need," emphasized the former F1 designer. Anderson also sees potential for conflict within the team, as Charles Leclerc has previously been the main character. “Hamilton will hardly be satisfied with second place,” expects Anderson.
Although speculation about a possible move is growing, Frédéric Vasseur, Ferrari's team boss, has stressed that no discussions have taken place with Hamilton so far. “We are used to hearing new rumors every week,” Vasseur clarified, after recent reports emerged about Hamilton and other drivers such as Charles Leclerc, who interestingly could also play a role at Mercedes. Despite the rumors, Ferrari's focus is now on the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix, which Vasseur says could be crucial for the team's future direction Club Alfa reported.
Given this dynamic in Formula 1, it remains to be seen how the situation surrounding Hamilton and Ferrari will develop. The Brit's contract with Mercedes ends at the end of this season, which only fuels speculation.
