On Wednesday morning, October 30th, a 65-year-old Windecker and his wife fell victim to a brazen fraudster who spent a family member through WhatsApp. At 6:30 a.m., the couple reached an SMS from an unknown number with the request for contacting via WhatsApp. Unanimously, they followed the instructions and had no idea that they stumbled into a nasty sophisticated fraud.

The alleged relative played the predicament perfectly and claimed to urgently need money for an invoice. The couple, good faith and helpful, carried out several transfers that were almost 4,500 euros in total! Only when the 65-year-old contacted the real relatives via the old number did the shock come: it was a fraud!
