on September 30th, more precisely at 5 p.m., a serious traffic accident occurred on the B252 regional road in rural. Two vehicles collided head -on, which led to a significant traffic disorder.
two 39-year-old men were involved, both behind the wheel of a Fiat. The driver from Diemelstadt was on the way to Volkmarsen, while the other driver, a Georgian, came from the opposite direction. So far, why the Georgian got on the oncoming lane is unclear. This situation led to the serious collision between the two cars.
injuries and damage
The driver from Diemelstadt suffered minor injuries in the impact and had to be taken to the hospital. Fortunately, the Georgian driver and his 35-year-old passenger remained unharmed. After the accident, however, both vehicles were so badly damaged that they were no longer ready to drive and had to be towed. The police estimate the property damage to around 10,000 euros.
The accident site had to be closed for almost two hours, which led to considerable traffic disruptions in the area. Such closures are necessary in order to be able to carry out the accident recording and the subsequent cleanup without further incidents.
Investigations and legal steps
The police have already started the investigation into the exact cause of the accident. A crucial point in this case is that the driver from Georgia has no permanent residence in Germany. This meant that in coordination with the Paderborn public prosecutor, a security deposit was required to secure any claims. Such measures are common in cases such as this in order to take legal and financial claims into account after a traffic accident.
For residents and passers -by in this area, the knowledge that such traffic accidents and their consequences are taken seriously can be important. The police have emphasized that it continues to be proactively in such situations to ensure traffic safety.
