A dramatic traffic accident that occurred on November 11, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. on Bundesstraße 241 near Lauenförde has led to considerable damage to property and a long traffic jam. A 39-year-old driver wanted to overtake a Polish semitrailer, but he overlooked the oncoming truck of a 54-year-old Ukrainian. The brave truck driver, 46 years old, made the risky decision to make a full braking, which ended in a dangerous collision with the tractor

The situation quickly escalated: the Ukrainian truck skidded, hit the tractorizer violently and then shot into the street raven. In the meantime, the responsible car driver decided to flee and continued his journey, despite the severity of the accident. Thanks to attentive witnesses, the authorities were able to determine its license plate, and now an investigation against him is running for unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident.

The total damage is estimated at around 10,000 euros and the salvage of the unfortunate truck took a whopping three hours. The federal road had to be completely blocked during this time, which caused massive traffic disruptions.
