A dramatic incident on the German-Dutch border has led to a arrest that heats the minds! The federal police grabbed a 52-year-old Lithuanian on Wednesday, who was not only sought with an arrest warrant, but also owes a shocking amount of money of almost 11,000 euros! The man who was traveling from Amsterdam to Lithuania will now disappear behind bars for more than two months.

The specified internal border controls were temporarily reintroduced to combat crime and attracted the interest of the federal police. When they stopped the bus and checked the man, the shocking prison was discovered by comparing his personal data. His conviction for drunkenness at the wheel led to a prison sentence of 80 days - a punishment that he could have averted by paying a fine of 3,200 euros. But the arrested could simply not apply the necessary money!

broken trip and prison stay

The situation escalated when he also had to pay procedural costs of over 7,800 euros. No money, no hope of freedom! Instead of continuing his trip to the Lithuanian homeland, he was brought to the nearest correctional facility. The same evening he was admitted to the institution, while the other legal problems that could affect him may have got stuck in the air.

A next stop in Lithuania? Rather not! The stuck Lithuanian not only has to process the exciting events at the border, but also to face life behind bars. A lesson that he will not forget so quickly!
