Environmental valley in Maltkwitz: suspicious old oil contaminates pond!

A worrying incident occurred on Wednesday, November 13th, in Malkwitz, as an employee of the municipality of Malente, a shockingly dirty water discovered and immediately informed the police. On site, the police forces confirmed that the water surface of a large pond was in a worrying state: a striking cloudiness and bright rainbow coloring attracted attention. The joint investigation with the municipality and the lower water authority showed that the harmful liquid had reached the water through a gully.

At 4:30 p.m., the officers of the police motorway and district area Scharbeutz made their way to Malkwitz and suspected that it was old oil that was initiated via a street process connected to the pond. The police officers quickly removed rehearsals and officers immediately with the comprehensive cleaning of the contaminated water. In the meantime, the investigation has been promoted and a suspect from Ostholstein has been identified. The environmental protection team of the police motorway and district area Scharbeutz has initiated an investigation into suspected water pollution.
