On Saturday morning (November 9, 2024), the brazen theft in an Intercity Express on the way to Stuttgart. A 73-year-old man, a German citizen, had targeted the tablet of a 32-year-old traveler who was stowed in her suitcase. At 10:45 a.m. the woman noticed that her valuable device was stolen while driving and asked for help at short notice.

A 63-year-old fellow traveler immediately jumped in and, together with an employee of Deutsche Bahn AG, informed the alleged perpetrator. When the train in Stuttgart held 15, the two brave men asked the 73-year-old to return the stolen tablet. This reluctantly handed over the stolen goods and then wanted to flee. But until the alarmed federal police arrived, the men recorded him successfully.
