Safe children in traffic: Lübeck police inspire in St. Getrud!
In Lübeck, the autumn holidays were used to teach the little ones important lessons about road safety. The Hanseatic city's police organize special courses that are not only educational but also exciting for primary school students. Around 100 children, accompanied by their parents and grandparents, attended the youth traffic school to learn how to deal with traffic dangers in a playful way.
The training courses for first and second graders offer young road users the opportunity to learn how to behave correctly through practical practice. Various activities, such as crossing streets or riding a bicycle, raise awareness and strengthen the relationship with the police in a positive way. The children experience safety and fun at the same time, emphasizing the importance of responsible traffic rules from an early age.
Practical exercises with lots of fun
The courses include exciting stations such as cone slalom, braking exercises and the correct behavior at stop signs. Thanks to the active support of parents, not only is the learning process improved, but also the time spent together is strengthened. As a reward, each participant received the Captain Blue Bear traffic guide and safety lights, which were donated.
However, the responsibility also remains with the parents. They must make the right decisions for their children's schooling and always be role models. They also benefit from the information about the traffic education offers in Lübeck, which are remarkable nationwide. Every year, approximately 4,500 to 4,700 children go through the youth traffic school programs and learn how to navigate traffic safely.
