Shocking scam in Bürstadt!On Sunday evening, November 17th, a previously unknown trickster crossed several borders to carry out his brazen act. At around 6:15 p.m., the criminal rang the doorbell of a senior citizen on Rathausstrasse and staged a perfidious pretext: He claimed that water damage in an apartment below absolutely required checking the water pipes in her apartment. The unsuspecting lady was misled by his apparent urgency.

But what happened next is simply unforgivable! While the senior citizen waited in her bathroom, stunned, for the alleged “repair work,” the trickster took the opportunity to search the apartment for valuables. And the haul is impressive: with several hundred euros in cash and valuable jewelry, the perpetrator quickly disappeared into the darkness. The description of the unscrupulous thief? He is medium height, around 30 to 35 years old, speaks German without an accent, has dark hair and was dressed darkly.
