Firearm in a dispute: Nuremberg residents arrested!

In a worrying turn of events, a firearm threat occurred in Nuremberg on Friday evening, October 11, 2024. The incident occurred in the Großweidenmühle district and began as a verbal argument between two men. The 41-year-old accused, who felt disturbed by the photographing of his vehicle, confronted the 29-year-old victim, which resulted in a heated discussion.

At around 10:30 p.m., the injured party got into an argument with the accused after he became aware of the photo of his car. An aggressive argument followed, during which the 41-year-old pulled a firearm from his waistband and held it in front of the younger man's eyes. The injured party was quick enough to flee from the impending violence, while the accused disappeared in an unknown direction.

Arrest and investigation

Thanks to a witness statement, the police officers were able to determine the suspect's address. The accused's apartment was then surrounded by officers from the USK Middle Franconia. The public prosecutor ordered a search of the premises to further clarify the case. Interestingly, when the police were standing outside the apartment, the accused came out of his apartment with a kitchen knife in his hand. He was asked to put down the knife, which he did and allowed himself to be arrested without resistance.

During a subsequent search of the apartment, officers were unable to find the actual weapon. However, they discovered the packaging of a PTB weapon and a recent proof of purchase, indicating the possible legitimacy of the possession. The 41-year-old was taken to the office, where a doctor took a blood sample. It turned out that he was clearly intoxicated, with a blood alcohol content of around two per thousand.

The consequences of the incident are serious. The accused must answer on suspicion of an offense against the weapons law, as well as threats and insults. It remains to be seen what further steps the public prosecutor's office will take after starting the investigation into this case.

These disturbing events not only indicate possible problems with violence, but also raise questions about the use of alcohol and weapons. Such incidents endanger public safety and highlight the need to take preventive action against such threats in order to avoid future conflicts of this type. Details about this incident are still sparse, however reports www.presseportal.de that the investigation is ongoing.
