Metzingen is experiencing chaos on the B312!
A dramatic traffic accident involving five vehicles caused a stir in Metzingen on Monday afternoon! The incident happened around 2 p.m. when a 26-year-old driver was driving a Mercedes Sprinter on the B312 towards Reutlingen. The approaching ambulance forced the driver to brake abruptly. In the collision, the sprinter drove into the rear of a Saab that was being driven by a 50-year-old. But that was far from the end - the Saab then crashed into a Volvo truck in front, which was being driven by a 47-year-old man. Initial investigations are still clarifying whether the Saab was actually pushed onto the truck.
In this shocking collision, the 50-year-old Saab driver and his 68-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries. While the man was uninjured, his passenger had to be taken to the clinic for further treatment. The material damage amounts to several thousand euros and the Saab is no longer roadworthy. The chaos became complete when a 44-year-old drove her Skoda into a sprinter that had stopped after the first impact. This led to significant traffic delays - a real hell for all drivers!
Accident with failure to give way in Albstadt
But that wasn't the only scary moment in the region! On Tuesday morning in Albstadt there was another accident at the intersection of Gartenstrasse and August-Sauter-Strasse in which the right of way was ignored. An 82-year-old woman failed to give way around 10:45 a.m. when she drove into the intersection in her VW Golf. There was a crash with a Skoda Octavia that was being driven by a 50-year-old on the right-of-way road. While the senior citizen remained uninjured, the Skoda driver was slightly injured and was able to seek medical attention on his own.
The two vehicles were so badly damaged by the impact that they had to be towed away and the material damage is estimated at around 20,000 euros. The accidents not only caused injuries, but also caused huge chaos on the roads!
