Shocking controls on the A8: dozens of violations uncovered!

Ulm – Shocking finds on the highway!On Tuesday, police officers uncovered at least twelve serious commercial traffic violations during intensive checks on the A8 near Ulm-Seligweiler. Between 9am and 2pm officers investigated and discovered a worrying level of disregard for safety regulations.

Six of the buses tested had to be shut down by drivers due to technical defects and serious violations of driving and rest times. But that wasn't everything! Three trucks were examined more closely and it emerged that the loads were not adequately secured. A quick backup was ordered and a heavy transport truck with an impressive 22 tons of steel girders was only allowed to continue driving after these measures had been taken. One of the truck drivers also had suspicions that the exhaust system had been tampered with - a serious violation that could now result in an investigation.

Penalties and security deposits

The controls also had financial consequences: a total of around 2,000 euros in security deposits could be charged from foreign drivers and vehicles. This clearly shows that the police take safety on our roads seriously and will continue such checks in the future. “The results demonstrate the necessity of these measures,” said a police spokesman. A clear signal of serious consequences in commercial traffic!
