Shocking balance: 60% of truck drivers in Sinsheim complained!

On Tuesday, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., police and several institutions on the tank and rest area Kraichgau-Süd carried out a massive control of the commercial goods and passenger transport. In this impressive security act, which took place as part of a further training measure by the police university, 56 vehicles were carefully examined. The terrifying balance? Over 60 percent of the controlled drivers had to be objected to!

With these strict controls, numerous violations were found that let the alarm bells ring! Nine drivers did not stick to the important rules for steering and rest periods. But that was not all: six drivers had violated social regulations, while three advertisements were made for freight traffic law. And as if that weren't enough, six violations of the road traffic regulations (StVO) also had to be documented, including defects in load securing. Shocking: a truck was overloaded and a driver was caught because he was driving without his visual aid!

eleven drivers crossed the prescribed working hours and did not even treat themselves to the necessary breaks. The police had no choice and issued security payments of a total of 5,600 euros! Five drivers even received a temporary driving ban. The control teams are made up of officials from the traffic police as well as the water protection police and the customs office, and it is clear that these measures served both the further training and the exchange between the authorities.

The impressive results clearly show how important such controls are in order to increase traffic safety in public space. The police are already planning further actions and therefore remains a crucial guardian for security and order on the streets!
