Schrzmoment on Autobahn 1: on October 24, 2024, around 4:05 p.m., a 17-year-old motorcyclist from Northwest Mecklenburg was seriously injured when he was traveling on the route between Reinfeld and Bad Oldesloe in the direction of Hamburg. The young driver, who moved on the left lane, wanted to switch abruptly onto the middle lane when he collided with a motorhome that was controlled by a 50-year-old man from North Rhine-Westphalia.

The impact was brutal! The motorcyclist lost control of his Yamaha and fell. He slipped several meters across the road, while a 53-year-old driver from Lower Saxony was careful not to drive over him. In an evasive maneuver, this driver crashed into the center concrete strip. Together with the rescue helicopter, the seriously injured cyclist was flown to the hospital - luckily the injuries are not life -threatening.

The consequences of this dramatic accident were far -reaching. The highway had to be completely blocked for the duration of the accident recording, which led to significant traffic disruptions. The closures were lifted around 6:30 p.m., which made many travelers possible. The estimates of property damage amount to around 13,000 euros - another sad chapter on the streets of the region.
