Attempted escape in Wilhelmshaven: scooter driver stopped at 50 km/h!
Wilhelmshaven (ots)
On Saturday night, around 11:18 p.m., the Wilhelmshaven police became aware of a shocking event! A radio patrol car spotted three mopeds coming the other way on Peterstrasse. But then chaos broke out: one of the vehicles, a scooter, suddenly increased speed and tried to escape control! The careless driver raced further into Kieler Straße and was finally stopped on Bremer Straße.
The police met the 21-year-old driver from Schorten, who came to the point quite blatantly! The scooter was missing a license plate and, he claimed, his vehicle had not received the legally required restriction. Instead of the permitted 25 km/h, it could easily speed through the streets at a dangerous speed of up to 50 km/h. What a stir!
Legal consequences follow!
The officials were immediately alerted! The Schortenser did not have permission to drive the moped. Further travel was immediately prohibited and the vehicle was impounded. An investigation has been initiated against him - the legal framework does not allow for any exceptions! It remains to be seen what legal consequences the courageous scooter rider will now have to face. The night ended anything but harmlessly for the 21-year-old, who could soon be held accountable for his reckless behavior!
