At 4.30 p.m., the police and fire brigade were alerted by an emergency call - witnesses had discovered the flames on Gehaborner Strasse and reacted immediately!

The fire department of Griesheim was quickly on hand and fought through the dense swaths of smoke. But the fire had already taken its destructive run, first in the courtyard and then in the adjacent shed and directly in the house!
