In a spectacular incident on the BAB65, near Edesheim, there was a vehicle fire this afternoon, which required immediate action. At around 2 p.m., several emergency calls were received by the police and fire department: A VW Golf was smoking dangerously in the interior! The vehicle was heading towards Karlsruhe and the driver reacted quickly. He quickly drove his car onto the hard shoulder and called the emergency number, a true hero in this emergency situation!
A little later, blazing flames erupted from the car, which burned to its full extent! The hellish spectacle could not be stopped, the Golf burned beyond recognition and fortunately the driver was uninjured. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire, but the highway had to be completely closed to extinguish the fire. The resulting property damage is estimated at around 5,000 euros - a financial shock for the owner, but a happy outcome compared to possible injuries.
