On October 8, 2024, the bicycle patrol of the Frankenthal police inspection in the inner city area carried out extensive checks. From 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the officials had the opportunity to speak to numerous citizens and to clarify them about safety regulations in road traffic. Such preventive measures are intended to help increase traffic safety for all road users.

Several traffic sins were found during the controls. Five cyclists were caught by driving the pedestrian zone. These violations of the rules are not only annoying, but also endanger the safety of pedestrians. There was also another incident in which a motor vehicle was caught in the pedestrian zone.

Another important aspect of control was the upbringing of children who were traveling with their bicycles in the pedestrian zone. In total, the officials held twelve educational conversations to make the young cyclists understand why these regulations exist. It is crucial to sharpen the security awareness among younger road users to avoid accidents.

In addition, the police registered two violations of expired main inspections (HU) in motor vehicles. These examinations are required by law to ensure that vehicles are roadworthy. Another violation concerned the cycle path in the wrong direction, which is a clear risk to all road users.
