Operation in the Rintelner Forest: Man or animal behind mysterious noises?
Rinteln (ots)
A terrifying moment in Rinteln-Todenmann! On Saturday afternoon, a walker became aware of a mysterious noise that sounded like human moaning. She immediately alerted the rescue workers, who immediately went to the forest northwest of the streets “Zum Waldwinkel” and “Bödekers Brink”. What the emergency services found was a poignant mystery that raised many questions.
In a concentrated operation, the volunteer fire department used modern thermal imaging cameras to search the area where the alleged moaning was heard. After intensive efforts, the search remained fruitless: no trace of a helpless person! Instead, the sounds likely indicated the lively sounds of animals active in the area. Geese could be observed right near the forest, which may have caused the confusion.
A look at the situation
The population was alarmed, but the alarm proved to be unfounded. While the emergency services worked under high pressure, the situation attracted the attention of many walkers and residents. What started as a frightening incident eventually turned out to be a harmless mix-up. The fire department's warm and orderly response to the possible dangers shows its tireless commitment to the safety of citizens.
