Dramatic accidents in Büdingen: three injuries and B3 blocked for hours!
On Tuesday, October 8th, there were several traffic accidents in the region that kept police officers and rescue workers busy. In one of the incidents on the B457, three cars were involved, which led to serious injuries to two drivers.
The accident started around 4:40 p.m. when a 42-year-old man from Nidda and his BMW X3 got on the opposite lane in a left curve for so far unclear reasons. There was a collision with a 1 Series BMW, which was directed by a 54-year-old woman from Büdingen. The collision was violent enough that the 1 Series BMW was thrown against a Mercedes, whose driver, a 61-year-old from Karben, was fortunately only suffered minor injuries. However, both other drivers were seriously injured and had to be taken to the hospital immediately. The total damage is estimated at around 86,000 euros, and the police ask any witnesses to report on 06042/96480.
Another accident on the B3
Shortly after this incident, around 6:05 p.m., the police were alerted again when an Audi driver from Ranstadt also got on oncoming traffic at the Friedberg-Ragstadt exit. The 59-year-old Audi driver collided with a Ford who was driven by a 59-year-old woman from Niddatal. This suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by an ambulance. A rescue helicopter had to be requested for the seriously injured Audi driver in order to supply it as soon as possible. The B3 was closed for almost two hours until the scene of the accident could be released again around 8 p.m. Here, too, the police need information from witnesses and asks to report on 06031/6010.
While these accidents significantly influenced the road traffic situation in the area, there was also another incident in Münzenberg. On Monday, October 7th, a 31-year-old cyclist got into a fall around 4:40 p.m. when she braked greatly to avoid a collision by car. Although there was no direct contact, she pulled a broken hand in the fall. The car driver who was responsible for the dangerous situation continued her journey. The police are investigating and looking for further information on the vehicle involved in the accident, which was probably a dark VW Golf Plus. Witnesses are asked to report on 06033/7043-4011.
The events of these two days underline the important role of traffic safety and the need for attention in road traffic to avoid such accidents.
