Chaos at the weekend: alcohol, accidents and burglaries in Lüneburg!

Lüneburg (ots)

Big booty, adventurous car rides and dangerous rats! The weekend from November 8th to 11th, 2024 in the city and district of Lüneburg was packed with exciting and frightening incidents. On Bleckeder Landstrasse, a 36-year-old man was noticed who was not only sitting in the car, but also breaking the rules twice: alcohol and drugs in his blood, plus a missing driver's license! A risky trio that the police first had to bring under control.

But he wasn't the only one causing excitement. On Saturday evening, a 29-year-old got behind the wheel and drove in serpentine lines through Bockelmannstrasse. Despite flashing police lights and honking, she seemed unfazed and continued to chug along until she stopped in a parking lot to do some shopping. The result? A massive intoxication that cost her her driving license and a violent argument while taking a blood sample! The criminal proceedings have long been initiated.

Burglars and traffic accidents

But the dark figures of the night did not remain idle either! In Adendorf, burglars tried to break into a residential building near the golf course on Friday evening. The perpetrators not only caused great damage, but also disappeared without success. A trailer with bricks also disappeared on Saturday night - a clear theft!

The streets were also anything but safe. Early Sunday, a 22-year-old man crashed his car into several street trees. Luckily he was only slightly injured, but his vehicle was a total loss! Another incident occurred at 12:40 p.m. when a bus driver overlooked a car and an accident occurred - here too there were minor injuries. The number of traffic accidents is increasing and the police are looking for sensible drivers who follow the traffic rules!

In addition, other crimes such as bodily harm in arguments between men in Uelzen and attempted shoplifting in Lüchow were also uncovered. The police cordon off the city and take tough action - no room for criminals! Citizens are urged to be vigilant and to assist police in the event of further incidents.
