In a dramatic incident on October 27, 2024, around 6:30 p.m., a construction trailer in Stralsund caught fire and was completely destroyed. The location of the fire was the Vogelwiese, corner of An den Bleichen in Kniepervorstadt. Just a few minutes after the alarm was raised by the operations control center of the Neubrandenburg police headquarters, 12 energetic firefighters from the Stralsund professional and volunteer fire department arrived. Despite their courageous intervention, the construction trailer was already ablaze and caused material damage of around 10,000 euros. Luckily no one was injured.
